It is a fact of life that when we eat
more than our body needs our body stores the excess calories and
we gain weight. It is surprising just how quickly that excess
weight can go on. Why we do overeat may not be entirely clear
to us but eating is a pleasant experience, particularly when we
are in the company of others.
However, there are other reasons we may overeat. We may eat
because we are unhappy, to cheer ourselves up. Maybe we eat to
make ourselves feel better. Maybe we are totally bored or perhaps
we eat merely out of habit. It may be that we rush in from work
and just eat anything we have to hand, giving no thought to what
we are eating at all.
We may overeat as a way of coping with stress, unhappiness
or low self esteem. Anger can drive us to eat large amounts of
food our body does not need. In order to make those changes that
need to be made to help you shed excess weight we need to deal
with just what triggers that overeating.
